The sheriff's office of the Sandiganbayan has finished garnishing assets owned by the Corona couple in relation to their civil forfeiture case. However, the order might have come to late as the sheriff's report noted that only P7,580.98 was found in their bank accounts. A report submitted by Sheriff Alexander Valencia showed that P1,056.27 was discovered in an account with the Bank of the Philippine Islands, while another P6,524.71 was found in a Philippine National Bank account. Both accounts were under the name of Cristina Corona. Valencia's report showed that five other accounts of the Corona couple revealed "no deposits on record." Meanwhile Valencia reported that seven condominium units owned by the Coronas were also garnished. A parcel of land in La Vista, Quezon City was likewise garnished. The sheriff's office requested that the garnishment order remain in effect for continued compliance since the entire amount subject to the case has yet to be frozen. So what will they do to him now? I'm sure he has deposited them in off-shore accounts by now and has a private jet waiting to take him out of the Philippines, if he hasn't already left. How far does the senate want to take this knowing that if anyone were to take a look at their accounts they would likely be in the same boat as Corona.
