Thanks to all the regular posters here, that have made this board so informative. I've spent hours reading here, about the good, and the bad. I've already gotten somewhat accustomed to life in the Philippines, since I've already been here for a while. I did bump Dumaguete to the top of my list, of places to visit, in lieu of a possible move. I'll be in town next week, to scout it out. Where is a good place to stay? Any good bars or restaurants in Dumaguete? J/K lol:p
Wow Don, you are from Ermita, Manila, and you ask us if there are good bars and restaurants here in Dumaguete. Ermita has of course a lot more to offer regarding entertainment, but you won't be here at the end of nowhere. Yes, we have here a lot of different small but good restaurants and bars. If you have also read the topics in 'entertainment/nightlife' you will have seen all (most of !) the names of the good restaurants. There are so many added the last 2 years. I love this place just because it has that variaty of good and cozy places to dine. But again......it's not Manila !!!
I'll find something to eat, while I'm in town alone, I'm sure. But I'd rather have home cooking any day. I love the fresh fish, veggies, soup and rice diet that I've been on lately. I'm still on a "New Years" health kick diet, so no more chicken skin, pork fat, or balut. I went as far as to cut out my favorite, papaitan. I even quit drinking the pale pilsen, but something tells me I'm about to "fall off the wagon"... For a few days, at least.:D
