i made an anaerobic seaweed fertilizer once, don't know that the plants reacted to it but i mostly depend on fish emulsion and plant based fertilizers and urine. and besides the fish emulsion, i add a bit of seawater to the mix for micro nutrients. i also eat a fair amount of seaweed so my urine should have the micronutrients in it also.

you can find recipes for various DIY ferts here.

Hi Dreamer, so you still have Mulberry Cuttings and Passionfruit vines? If so can I buy some from you? PM me here with your Number if you can do. I miss my Mulberries back in Oz and I am sure they would grow well here!

Also; what is it with Squash/Pumpkins growing here? I had a large variety growing wild back in QLD Oz and all I did was stand back, throw seeds at the ground and Viola!!
But here they have taken over half of the house and every morning all I get is flowers on the ground and not a Pumpkin in sight  I can't work it out as it is smothered with Flowers and gets plenty of water hence why it is growing so wild...

I Also pitch my potting sand from the river which seems to work very well for growing Fruit Tree seedlings, I assume it is full of good stuff fresh from the mountain which is why the seedlings grow well in the Powdered Milk/ Milo etc silver lined Bags we use so we can eventually transplant onto our lot at a later date
