Thanks to all who posted in reply to my question. I found a nice room, affordable, not too far from the water (a few hundred feet!). Good for the moment as I search for something more ideal. Found it by simply walking around looking at "for rent" signs and placing some texts/calls. Took maybe three days of searching.
