    Seems like I read somewhere that packages coming to PI from China for example are entitled to a special rate regarding duty?

    Yes, its true, only available to Pinoys with "Connections", otherwise you will be charged the special " long nose tax" which is applicable to all foreigners here..somewhere around 300% duty so can buy the same sh*t at Tops and Bottoms at a discount.O-|
