Sometimes I get more than frustrated when some complain at such small things here like BYOB. I just received this from a friend in Canada after his divorce. I for one, couldn't imagine going through what he did and still come out with this attitude.

I had my last court appearance this past Wednesday and got cleaned out !!! $650,000.- vs me "zero" !!!!!! This is what you call Canadian Justice hahahaha But I'm sure real Justice will be served upon the culprits one of these days. It's just money that could have helped me get set up in the Philippines. But I'm still quite fortunate of having a good pension and now a lovely new wife. What else should I want. As soon as she is here, I'll be enjoying a brand new life! Can't wait.

    Life!

:oSad Fact of life Ron, a couple of weeks ago, I was posting, that I needed to send cash home, as my wife's card was not working. Here we were, complaining, at each Other, that we could not get to cash, The chap in front of me at the machine, had no cash left to Draw. Now your friend has had this happen. It does make you wonder and certainly gives you something to think about. There is always, someone less fortunate than us and yet we do moan and complain, at the slightest thing, that may go wrong for us. As no doubt you have heard many times, "Making Mountains out of Molehills" It won't change of course, I doubt that many give a thought, to anyone else in troubled times, we just continue to complain about our OWN minor problems and niggles. Never intended but I can be selfish at times.:o:o

I trust and hope your friend pulls through this rough Patch, what goes around comes around. It won't last forever I am sure.

something to think about says ron and when i opened the thread my eyes fell on the word "moan" in jack's post and i thought about... jack's doll! hehehe has it arrived yet?

that's so true. some people just have this nasty habit of whining about the smallest things. we just can't seem to appreciate what we have. i know i'm guilty of it too -- a lot! i'm not a big fan of what i do for a living. i think it's the loneliest job in the world and i always dream about doing something more exciting, like skydiving and getting paid for it (duh). and then i think about some people who can barely send their kids to school and put food on the table and that's when i feel lucky. so right now my mantra is, "better lonely than hungry." :(

    Food for thought!

    NO!:p

Odd you know, That is so true, better we try and think positive, many things have been said about me, some good, some bad But hey, that's life. I maintain that life is for living. I have never stayed where I was not wanted, If the wages did not pay the rent and food, I moved on. I found my life again after a few bad years, One of my sayings is as many, " Bin there, Done that" like most people, I can be selfish and moan when things don't go my way, Who doesn't. I guess you are alone, NOT lonely, No one can be lonely here on DI, I think at some time, we all hate our jobs, I do just now, I am here and my little (:eek:Little) Family is there. Some don't have a Job and here we are Moaning about the one we Do have :o When I think back, I was like a 50 pence piece (British Coin) all edges, now I feel I have had those edges knocked off, by a lot here and the family, Now I feel all shiny and smooth. I have learned the hard way, no one will give me anything, so I have had to adjust and while thinking about a moan, I can now think about those less fortunate than I am. I think Rons Thread, has made a lot of us sit up and think, We can do something about our life, some of the people here can't, all the moaning in the world will not change this. :o We can Move on, change a lot but some have a tough time! DO we hear them Moan.

    Jack P.
ps: Before and After, Me I still me, just had the edges Rounded Off. I know I will think again before moaning.:o

Jack your coin analogy reminded me of this...this one fits me perhaps..lol

"Candy shop owner Jose Martinez shows an official Spanish 1 Euro coin with the face of Spanish King Juan Carlos (L) and another one altered to look like a face of cartoon character Homer Simpson in the northern Spanish town of Avile August 8, 2008. Martinez found the Homer Simpson coin in his shop's cash register while counting the days' transactions."

    OKAY! :D

no, lonely. doesn't matter how many friends, relatives, lovers one has if he can't spend quality time with them. was chatting with a friend from manila with the same hectic sched and we were talking about how, in spite of all these technologies and communication tools (IMs, forums, facebook, twitter, etc.), one can still be lonely. it's like connecting people on a superficial level. and edges? it's gonna take some time to get them rounded off. mine are jagged

sorry to hijack the thread, btw....
