Emergency Stay off the Green sidewalks...

On a related 'walking on sidewalk' note, one evening last week I was walking the boulevard and I have been quite impressed that the tourist police are doing well at keeping bicycles, skateboards and other vehicles off the boulevard.

That was until 2 bicycles brushed by me, travelling at speed and causing me to jump. I wanted to complain but the two bicycle jockeys were fully uniformed tourist police officers. Who ya gonna call?

 

Just think were u live here, it´s a good idea and a good start, hopefully they go on with this.....

As you can see from the picture, the red vehicle is parked on the right of way not far from the restaurants. This will be a no no since Silliman Avenue is a national highway and there is no parking for customers, owners and employees. The Silliman Highway goes from the PNB bank to the port cutting across the Street Food vendor area and parking along the road for their customers.

Likewise how many small businesses do you know that have any parking but along the road? NONE!

On two lane roads tricycles are to keep in the right lane so traffic can pass in the other lane. Mr Remollo owns tricycles not giving the same treatment to the ezi-rides and jeepneys along the highway.

In my 10 years here, this new mayor and administration is the most anti small business I've seen not even allowing vendors to replenish their stocks along the road.

I am frequently wrong but never in doubt!

We had the same signs along the road last year about prohibiting parking along the road but nothing came of it. All this fear of fines will too pass. Just wait until a few get tickets parking their motors in front of the cock fighting arena and this will be like the motorcycle helmet sticker and no-smoking etc....
