My fondest memories of the Stones is that their music somehow guided me back to Camp Pendleton in drunken state on New Years '65, "I can't get no"....
I haven't gone to any concerts of any of these old guys going out on tour, but if they are anything like I would be going back into the military today it would be pitiful. lol
I have seen Aerosmith twice. Once 15 years ago, they were pretty awesome, Tyler was still doing back flips on stage, he must have been in his 50s then. This January I got in a VIP room in Nashville to see them play. No back flips this time but still extremely agile for late 60s/early 70s, still humping everything that was humpable on stage. I have seen Nickleback, Kid Rock and Kenny Chesney (entertainer of the year when I saw him) and they couldn't hold a stick to Aerosmith. Aerosmith are awesome entertainers. If it were anyone else it would be "creepy old dirty man", but he's Steven Tyler, so it's not. I would love to have been able to get tickets in Manila.
But their opening act was Cheap Trick in Nashville......was pretty sad seeing them on stage, they should have retired a decade ago. Their music sucked as well, I think I only recognized 2 songs with them. Pretty sure when the singer got off stage he plopped down in a wheel chair.
I saw Aerosmith almost 40(!!) years ago. I had a double date with two girls. What an eye opener. (The girls and the concert!) hehe
Ha! I mentioned Mick Jagger and Rolling Stones to two young 20 something Filipinas here, they never heard of them, before their time my guess.
