Pat, thanks so much for freely sharing such a painful personal experience. Your strength and determination to keep moving forward is inspirational. I think one lesson we can all benefit from is to seek medical help at first signs of something amiss in our bodies, not to wait until a major event forces us to. Good to know that your experiences at Silliman were positive and that you have found helpful substances. Please continue sharing as you progress.

I know I'm not alone in never having met Pat, but have been on this forum for 15 years as my wife is a local and been to Dumaguete so many times and will end up there in the ground far away from home when my bell is rang, I too take courage from his stance on not giving up, fighting like a demon, and in his writing and his comments was a humble and over helpful chap who was a giver, loved his wife fiercely and spoke of his son in awe and wanted nothing more than to better them, so as the ad says " Pat is a champion" be like Pat "ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam"

I don't think anyone would take it that way. Have a happy new year Pat.

Thanks Jack, and thanks for being a long time friend. And thanks for sharing your stroke experience with me. Hopefully, I will get back on my feet as you have persevered and made it back.
