Try a Grey Goose Martini, shaken not stirred, with two green olives and you may start liking olives,

If they were cooked on the pizza they (and their strong oils) definitely will leave a taste, especially to a person with a aversion to them. I used to be the same with green olives, hated them on pizza and definitely knew when they had been picked off. I'm the same way with bell peppers and cucumbers (raw, cooked or pickled) added to recipes (though I have no problem eating them on their own). I absolutely despise any food they come in contact with and I immediately know when something has been cooked with them in the same pan.
However, Why Not has plenty of Pizza options, if they won't take ingredients off or add them then order something else or go somewhere else. You have to adapt in the Philippines and if you are a picky eater you are going to have a rough time.-

I've had the same experience at Why Not and eventually learned that the pizzas prepared in advance and frozen.
An acceptable answer in my opinion as removing olives wouldn't necessarily remove the taste of them.-

I am not wearing white socks, I don't walk half naked in the sun, I know a lot of filipino's who have bread as breakfast, so I don't see the point, drinking beer in the morning, not my piece of a cake. Just go around in the morning and watch all those pinoys @ a table with numerous one litre bottles of Red Horse or Pilsen. I am content with my apartment with sala and 2 bedrooms. Arrogant also refers to the locals. Complaining about food/service is not typically foreigners like. So still dont see what you are saying is reflecting to foreigners only as it also can reflect on locals. Just my 5 cents.

Must be Shakeys on the Boulavard. Same thing happened to me but I was not informed that my order was OUT OF STOCK until everyone else was being served. When I refused to pay the automatic 15% "Service Charge" for the waitress the manager came to our table and asked if it was okay to discount our meal by 15% and he pay the waitress a tip. So, no matter what, bad service gets paid and no matter what you think this paradigm rolls on. Expect the unexpected when it comes to logic in the Philippines. I think it must be something in the water???-

Though I would not normally agree with liannastar (the whole if you don't like it leave thing pi$$es me off), but I do agree that English is not most folks preference. I've done much time in the "village" when dating the wife and it was kids that spoke English mostly. Adult females seem to speak more English than males which I assume is due to them spending more time in school...just my theory. Others I think are a bit nervous but after some drinks their English does get better.
There have been many places we've visited where the staff prefers to speak in Visayan to the wife than speak to me in English (nose bleed...an odd terminology to me).
Tagalog is also taught in school, our son is in private school so I am well aware of his curriculum. If kids watch TV growing up (and now youtube and such) they will be exposed to Tagalog and pick it up.
Getting around just speaking English is really not an issue but with the wife's pushing I am working on learning Visayan.-

Yes I get your point. And yes absolutely, complain all u want but just understand you aren't going to change things by complaining. If you just want to vent that is your right. Personally I complain but I quickly get over it and come to grips with reality. Reality to me is yes there are things that infuriate me about PI, but I still stay because it beats the alternative. And the alternative is always there.. Waiting with open arms lol

You sound to me a bit overly understanding for our host country. Criticize our host country doesn't mean we have to walk around like dogs with their tail between the legs. Of course we have to adapt and I think most of us do. Foreigners in our home country do also complain for various things. And this is ok. As long the criticism is meanigful and constructive you can always learn. That applies also for the Filipinos. So your statement if you don't like it then just leave, seems to be a bit too simple.

My stress and anger disappeared the moment I accept I will never understand that behavior. An example, I will never understand why "someone" will cheat you for 10 pesos today when they can earn 100 pesos on you tomorrow if the threat you fair and we can go on. but again not all Filipino have that behavior and I know some Filipinos who have great skills in "thinking out of the box"-
