Or they are reacting to your attitude. This could be passive aggressive behavior.

Other posters, who come across as more humble, have good experiences at this restaurant. Maybe the help is smarter than you think and your attitude is the problem?

It is almost always my left shoe that craps out first due to the pavement and shifting gears.

I would bet that your activity in the Philippines is much different than what it was in the US prior to your retirement. It shouldn't come as a surprise that your shoes wear different as well.

If you want a good pair of shoes that will last try buying combat boots. They were designed to be abused. 5.11 are my preferred brand.

If you invest in a good pair of shoes be sure to bring them inside at night , I speak from experience. I live in what is considered a very good area of Dumaguete that being the Vila Amada Subdivision
