Great isn't it? If gas was cheaper I wouldn't mind daily brownouts. P300/12 hours is a bit much for me.

What size generators do you 2 have ? Alex, is yours gas or diesel ? What brand/make
Mine is a Promate ? DES6100 diesel. I wish now I would have bought a larger one, 8kw minimum, maybe 10kw. But that's just me, I like to run a lot of things. The more things you run the more fuel usage of course.
Just watch your load closely as overloading your wattage output can shorten the life of your alternator considerable.
Hopefully someone will post when the normal power returns as I have no way to know that unless it is dark out and I can see a neighbors lights.

I have a "Fujihama KC3500", just a cheap knockoff brand. 3.5kw maximum output. It can run all the lights in the house, both fans, ref, internet, computers/cellphones, security cameras, TV and satellite without any problems (I never have all that on at the same time though, usually just the fans, internet and a light or two at night). Around P300-400 to fill it up and it will run around 12-15 hours.

I'm checking the NORECO side of the throw switch every 15 minutes with a multi-meter. I'll post when it comes back on.

The power is back. I almost forget to check the TV like Alex mentioned. That works most of the time as long as it is an area wide brownout. The only time that TV check doesn't work is when only some areas are out and the TV people still have power. But Alex's reminder is a good one. The wife has to remind me to do that most of the time. That's one of her jobs though. Thank you.

That one never worked for me. When I had cable (analog) it was always on during brownouts. I have satellite now, we'd all be pretty screwed if NORECO was in charge of the power up there.
