    Hi

I am Tom Scott from Scotland originally, but currently living in Ramsgate, England, UK, married to Helen, who is from the Philippines (Dipolog City).

We may well buy a house in Dumaguete within the next year. We would like a swimming pool. Does anyone know how much to budget for installing a swimming pool of about 50-60 square metres ? How much for materials ? How much for labour ? Is there a Dumaguete company which specialises in swimming pools ? Any help gratefully received.

    Many thanks.

    Tom

    Hello Tom,
Just arrived from Dipolog City but stayed more time in Dumaguete City. Where is Helen specifically from Dipolog?
Been to a friend's newly built house in Dapitan and she has swimming pool 5x8meters area. It has a jacuzzi and waterfall with laser lights. It's a beautiful pool especially at night when it is lit. The man who installed her pool is from Cagayan de oro City and his asking price is 650,000PhP. It varies of the size of your pool.
    Say hello to your wife.

I checked into a swimming pool myself, installation costs are reasonable, but the cost for maintaining it are pretty high.

Electricity and chemicals are very expensive.

Thanks for your reply, Marky. Do you have any figures for installation ? Re maintenance costs, I would have expected them to be cheaper in the Philippines as, unlike the UK and USA, there should be no need to heat the pool.

Thanks also for your reply, Chrissar. 650,000 pesos sounds expensive given the much lower labour costs in the Philippines. But it certainly seems that the Dapitan pool you saw was an excellent one.

Anyone else got any experience of pools in the Philippines ?

    Tom

Thanks, Jim. Looks like a very interesting company. They will also build houses for you. Anyone know of a swimming pool company in Dumaguete itself ?

    swimming pool

    Hey Tom:

We are putting in a good sized pool on our lot. My builder said he would be interested and happy in quoting for you. However, he said to be careful of companies who give you a bid without seeing the property first. That is the only way an accurate bid can be given that can be honored, and I agree. They can give you a bid, then once the land is secured, say they can't honor it because of rock, or bad roads, etc.

We are building a 50 meter pool on our lot, and it is not costing close to 650,000 php. However, our builder is also doing our house as well.

If you want my builders name, just send me an email, and I will get it to you.

    Good luck,
    2 blackbelts

Thanks for your information, 2 blackbelts. I am interested in your builder's name, and will e-mail you. Many thanks.
