The last thread I can find on this is 2012, so I would be interested in an update about tailors in the Dumaguete area, especially to be competent to copy a pair of UK trousers I brought with me. Also, at 34 inch waist (maybe getting nearer 35) and shortish legs at 29 ins, would I expect to find suitable trousers off-the-peg anywhere locally? I find getting T-shirts and shirts okay, but trousers are my problem. My shoes are 9.5 UK size (I think 43 International size); are these normally sold here?
Yes, in many places, but I often buy a size larger as the width is all wrong. A size 44 leaves too much space for my toes but at least it does not pinch them width wise.
I had all of our Barong Tagalog Shirts made here (*See attached Picture) very good work and I thought it was good pricing, although I now forget exact prices, but I am wanting to go back soon and get more clothes made as I cannot buy anything in my size here. You will need to go to a Material Shop and buy the material and take it to him, you can get measured up first so he can tell you how much material you will need to buy per garment and he gives you back the left over material. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED* New Ramell Men & Women's Fashion Cnr. Maria Cristina & San Jose St's. 6200 Dumaguete Negros Oriental Philippines *EDIT* O K Mart is in Perdices Street off of Silliman Avenue, they have a wide range of materials to choose from, that is where my Wife always buys for whatever she needs; O K Mart Perdices Street Dumaguete. +63(35)4228396
I'm short and have some belly also but I never had any issues getting nice pants for me. Check Lee Plaza. The pants are quite well quality.
I don't know if you are interested but my wife sews. She used to make the long basketball type shorts and other things and sell them in Cebu. She still makes them for me and can make jogging pants too. The shorts are cheap to buy here but I have trouble finding large sizes and she puts pockets on the inside for me. As far as copying your trousers, if you have no luck in Dumaguete just PM me and I will get her to look at them. She makes her own pants and tops and does all kinds of special work. She just replaced all the zippers in a back pack for someone that couldn't get anyone else to do it. I can tell you it was no easy task what with liners, etc. She makes toilet tank and toilet lid covers, covered chair foams like for kitchen chairs, curtains, all the stuff that women like and a man would not give a nickel for.
Sorry mate I forgot about Jo doing that, I have personally seen the man's pants and they look store bought to me!
I had some work done at the Tailor shop down the street from Rob's Mall (in the same strip as the Angel's Bakery shop). They did great work and were affordable.
hey okie bound... down which street? the one towards bacong? the one towards the new mc do or the one towards the market? thanks...
On Lamberto Macias Rd, going towards Bacong. It is closer to the Petron station. Called Rodsmart Tailoring. Phone: 9166963724
