CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama wants President Benigno Simeon Aquino III to declare Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao as an ambassador of tourism or an ambassador of goodwill. Rama said that Pacquiao has shown “greatness” throughout his boxing career even when he lost to American boxer Floyd Mayweather last Sunday (Philippine time). During the fight held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Rama said that Pacquiao showcased the Philippines to the whole world. "No one has ever brought Philippines to the world map better than Pacquiao, therefore, he is deserving of a national award (or recognition). Pacquiao should be declared as an ambassador of tourism, ambassador of goodwill and whatever ambassador. That should be a national declaration," he said in a phone interview yesterday.
