Does anyone know where I can get a decent TOMATO around here? Those little green balls of crap they sell in the market and supermarket have no relationship to TOMATO's as I know them.

I like to cook Mexican and Itailan and TOMATO is an important part of it. Oh man, and a nice beefsteak in a salad is like gold!

Oh where, oh where can I find a decent TOMATO here in paradise?

Hi Relayer, Steve here. I have a couple pics of beefstakes I have been experimenting with growing here. I also grow the roma varieties for the Italian and other sauces. There is good reason they are not available here, and if anything similar is, its of poor quality. The soil, heat, disease, bugs, is so much is different here to growing in the states. I have collected seeds from different parts of the world to test which can be grown here without so much hardships fighting the elements. Long story short, just bought a hectare of land and am preparing it now for a small commercial production for a few varieties of western vegetables, including the beefstake. I think maybe about 6 to 7 months I should be in producing them. will try to figure out how to put a pic on here . first will post this. Well, cant figure out how to post pic yet, maybe someone can instruct me. not so much computor lit

Thanks Rhoody, here it is now...

I love the Fuji Apples here. There must be a million here. And I would guess those arent grown here. They must be imported from a cooler climate, say Japan maybe? So I am thinking that there could be imports of Tomatos too.

Please Mr Lee or Mr Snakeman living under Robinsons, PLEASE, could you help us get some decent TOMATOS here! I am begging you guys!
