hi..I was a K-1 and its the best process to get a visa but in order to get a k-1 there is a process you have to go through. Tourist is impossible unless you are a big time rich then maybe you will be approve but then you are taking a risk. Meanwhile, your wasting your money and the worries that you have to go through. You can take a risk but I suggest let your boyfriend or fiancee come to visit you. Cheaper and easier for both of you. Homeland Security now is more tighter due to this terrorist. So, you can take a risk like everybody else or go through a k-1 process or you and your boyfriend can get married in the philippines then file a visa after. good luck.

You're right, the Visitor Visa pretty much only an option for rich Filipinos UNLESS you are over 45 with direct relatives in the US to sponsor you.

    Business Visa:
If you are affiliated with a large, established company and invited by them to attend a convention/conference/training, etc in the US, it will likely be approved. (I even know of independent reps for Avon and Herbalife who have done this.) Of course, your visa will only be good for the period of the conference/convention/training plus maybe a few days, although you can likely extend for a week or so once you are there.

The only other viable, legal option that I can think of is a student visa. You would need to take one of the US college entrance exams (ACT or SAT), the TOEFL (English-language proficiency exam) and be accepted to a US university. But, if you are accepted, (can show means to finance your studies which may include a sponsor) and pass the standard criminal background checks, you will get a student visa.

It sounds like you are on a budget, but I would be remiss to note that having your application prepared and submitted with a cover-letter from a prominent US Immigration attorney will likely enhance your chance of approval greatly.

There is no provision in the US tourist visa application for a "sponsor". The applicant must stand completely on their own. In many cases a tourist visa would be denied solely due to the nature of the relationship with a "sponsor".

Sorry, no real answer for the OP. One thing maybe overlooked is USCIS looks at the petitioner's income, not how many bills he has. As long as he meets the income requirements for the number of dependants he will be fine. Another option is a co-sponsor, someone willing to sign for responsibility.

Maybe you can just go to Mexico where the two of you can spend some quality time together. Mexico is pretty inexpensive if you stay out of the tourist spots. I will just be careful since the way I understand your post, he is still married.

Almost all flights to Mexico go through the US, she would have to obtain a US transit visa which is just about the same level of difficulty as a tourist visa. other option would be through some of the nice South American coutries like Columbia or Nicaragua.

Sometimes people just have to bite the bullet and do it the only way it is designed to work, get on the plane and come here. If they can't do that, then they need to face the fact that they will most likely never get their girl through the immigration process.

True about the transit visas. Does anyone know how difficult a tourist visa for Canada is for a filipino? Just curious...

Costa Rica is open...has no visa requirement for Filipinos. However, its like Mexico, most flight transit through the US and would require the US Transit Visa. However, you can fly via Europe, but it will be a long and costly trip!

Bottomline, their is no easy or cheap way of achieving your goals Von-Mark.
