The vaccine greatly decreases the likelihood of death. This is a disease of the unvaccinated now.

I say p*ss on those that refuse to follow the science. It is self inflicted and the science is clear. If they can't see there is no long term without being concerned for the short term then give them their Darwin awards. Let their stupid decrease the power of their vote, society will only benefit from their absence.

Good news for travellers and the Cebu economy - but this will allow asymptomatics and pre-symptomatics to get through. People may be in the same transport as those people and so personal care again becomes paramount.

Have used the RoRo between Dumaguete and Dapitan so many times that I lost count. But 7 hours is an extremely long sailing time. Supposedly there were problems with the engines and as a consequence on half of the normal speed?? A slow boat from China is faster.

For international travelers there is a different app to submit thr vaccination cards too.

    https://onehealthpass.com.ph/faq.html

my father-in-law needed to submit his vaccination info from New York while he was in quarentine when he returned a few months ago. According to the site you can get the pass in advance.

Odds are things will change again before you visit but the basic answer is yes, this country, in its own way, does validate vacciations from abroad

    Seems a bit harsh,
I normally let your comments wash over me and don't take most of them seriously but i can't resist this one.
One thing that you should realize during your halcyon days of youth is that nobody can stop time and there really is only one alternative to getting old and yes you guessed it ,
    IT'S dying young....

“Are there no prisons?” asked Scrooge. “Plenty of prisons,” said the gentleman, laying down the pen again. “And the Union workhouses?” demanded Scrooge. “Are they still in operation?” “They are. Still,” returned the gentleman, “I wish I could say they were not.” “The Treadmill and the Poor Law are in full vigour, then?” said Scrooge. “Both very busy, sir.” “Oh! I was afraid, from what you said at first, that something had occurred to stop them in their useful course,” said Scrooge. “I’m very glad to hear it.

    LOL Merry Christmas...

If I read it correctly he means there (possibly) won't be much of a long term to worry about if one doesn't care to protect themselves in the short term by getting vaccinated.

As for the waning antibody count studies, antibodies are only part of the story with regard to immune systems. There's also T-cells that have a "memory" function regarding previous infections (and fake infections -vaccinations-). Those T-cells will quickly mount defenses against renewed infection in a person with a healthy immune system.
Which is why booster shots are way more important for those with deficiencies in their immune system (generally elderly people).

However, experiences in Israel and Singapore, both boasting vaccination rates over 80% and yet seeing record breaking numbers of infections should give us pause.
I haven't read reports yet that confirm "herd immunity" is a figment of the imagination for this virus and its variants but it sure seems to point that way.
