Here's the info on my bike's particular elec system

The bike has a shunt type regulator. It essentially shunts any current to ground that is not being used by the bike. This shunting to ground of the current causes heat in the regulator.

So, the fewer electrical items that are in use (like a disconnected headlight), the more current is shunted to ground through the regulator. Thus, more heat has to be dissipated by the regulator. Sometimes that can be too much for the regulator to handle and it burns out.

So if I want to try a battery from that place you recommend I guess I should try to get a Quantum brand? I didn't notice what brand the one they showed me was

Like I said, they wanted something like p1200-1500 for the battery labeled with the same size as mine but no warranty.

My battery is doing ok, but for that price I'd give theirs a try as long as it'll give me some good results. One of those two shops wanted p6000 for a Bosch trickle charger :/

I know that you like ordering stuff in the US, so here you go, "Battery Tender Junior 12", costs 40$, it operates on 110V, so you need to buy a small "step up transformer" in town, that will be 300-500PhP.
The Batteries they sell are not all of the "Quantum" brand, depending on the battery size you need, I bought a PH made "Imarflex" at F+FO for 1000PhP about 6 Months ago, I bought it because the last one I had was the same brand and it lasted 5 years...
If you want I can drop by tomorrow and bring you the details on the "Trickle Charger"...

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I want to use a 110V charger and have to mess around with having the transformer outside etc

I will though probably opt for that no-warranty battery if the brand is correct and roll the dice. Just to see how it turns out or FFO

I looked on my usual Chinese websites for a trickle charger, but the choices were either solar powered, or minimum order of 100
