I thought it was rather pleasant walking round town, no noisy trikes taking up most of the roads. Wife and I usually take up a ride daily on the trikes.
We always give P10 around town, and coming home to Bacong Sacsac normally with shopping we give P100. Will continue to do so.

It's enforced in Cebu and a few other places but just remember how much the trike driver raised for the mayors re election a couple years ago

I've found most trike drivers to be pretty decent folks; the wife is the one that pays and the only places she has had issues is around Robinsons and the bus terminal in Dumaguete when a driver asks her what she wants to pay...she knows the cost and will get pretty pissed off. I've never taken a trike in Tanjay or Dumaguete without the wife so I could not say if there would be a price hike for me.
One thing I think is a huge plus here is the cost of getting around by bus and trike; the wife has had trike drivers take us to multiple places for shopping and generally they want to carry things into the house...until they see all the dogs that is.

Because when they deliver you to town, there are more fares to be had. Outside of town, they may have to deadhead to some place where they can pick up a fare.

Just an Update on this as many I am sure were not aware of what exactly was going on.

I can recall having to make several stops around town by trike with a party of 3 and I found it much easier to hire the trike for half a day. Having an economical vehicle may not pay for itself but the convenience [except parking] makes up the rest for me.
When I ran into the pirates around Robinsons who wanted 50 piso to take off, I just got out and started walking and I wouldn't get 20 meters on the National Highway before a trike would pick me up and take me on the next leg of my journey in town for 10 piso.-
