Need information on Boracay from Dumaguete. Were looking for a quiet place to stay and relax. Any information on travel would be apprieciated as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi DWY5019,
First reply, We stayed at the Red Squirrel in a cottage at the rear a couple of years ago, staff were OK and just by White Beach. Meals were a bit pricey, but if you walk to the market area prices are more reasonable. we did the Island hopping trip which is negotiable and great fun with a BBQ meal included in the price. regards JB

Depends on your budget and if you want upscale or not. The newer Shangri-la is in a quiet area by itself but is expensive but romantic. I stayed at Friday's, Two Seasons, and Discovery Shores, my favorite is Fridays because of the bar/restaurant, but not necessarily quiet.

I was just looking on Trip Advisors website and They list "Daves Straw Hat Inn" as the #1 choice out of 170 hotels. It only has 9 rooms, cost $20-$55 per night and may not be 5 star quality, but it is another option. They have it listed as being right next to, and within walking distance of Boracay Beach.. Cheers. BTW Pat, Fridays looks really nice and also gets Praised reviews although it's priced from $200-$300 per night..

If you want a real party, just stay close to boat station 2. I can recommend Red Coconut and it's just few meters away from the D'mall and other souvenir shops. The price is quite affordable.
