I'd think the number of foreigners who would love to actually know what the news is about far outnumbers the deaf population. Yet there is no effort to add any English to the major news broadcasts.

If advertisers wanted to reach out to tourists here in It's Better In the Philippines, they'd push for some English.

I wrote ABSCBN, but of course their email address isn't correct

Most foreigners are on their budget, I would like to help, but can't help thousands of people. In my case I have a half deaf helper, I can't afford over P20,000 for hearing aids . But I can give her food and a good life.

Its been a couple years since I was using an antenna, but the abs cbn at 5.30 was in philipino, but at about 10 at night it was in english, basically the same news. as said, was awhile back, but I used to wait till 10 pm to watch it, Now I just use the P.C to read the news, at least what would interest me.

I agree getting tv news in English is tough, sometimes I ask my wife to translate but I only get a short version. I sometimes watch ANC, they have more English broadcasts.

Only on the internet would you get a person posting a complaint about not being able to get the news in their language on broadcast TV.

Think about that for a second...

OK I've thought about it - seems as good a place as any to post it - where would you suggest it should be posted ?

Its not only my language, but a language most foreigners know..in a country that wants more tourists-who might just want to be informed via local tv news broadcasts.
