Which is what these female Servicemembers have done - pass very rigid and demanding physical and mental toughness standards.
Not very many human beings - male or female - can pass these "male" standards. And my opinion is that when any qualified US Servicemember can pass this training and the standards required, then they ought to be awarded full participation in this skill level.
Regardless of gender, the standards are set regardless of gender - it is based on ability. I doubt many females will ever qualify, as most females are generally not able to meet the physical requirement standards. Few males can make this cut, too, though a greater percentage of males can do so as they are generally larger in size and muscle mass.
But by golly, if an occasional female Servicemember wishes to serve in such a capacity, can make the prerequisite requirement "cuts", and can graduate from this intensive training, then have at it!
The US needs the very best and the most highly qualified Servicemembers out there to be able to actively and fully participate in this field - that's what the skill levels of this type of war fighting requires - and nothing less.
This is not about diluting standards to gain EO quotas. This is about attracting the best we have throughout the force structure for entry into this incredibly demanding and uniquely challenging set of knowledge, skills and abilities that are inherent in the tasks assigned to this specialty.
All graduates from this course will still have much to learn and acquire as they "season" in this specialty of war fighting.
I applaud them all and wish all of them the greatest of success.

As long as they can meet the MALE physical fitness standards then I have absolutely no problem with them serving alongside men. Combat roles should be open to all that can pass the physical and emotional requirements.

Good on you ladies for not quitting. If you can shoot and throw a grenade you should be allowed to serve in combat.
