Supplying Tanduay would not fall into the category of low overhead. Sorry. Besides, I don't want them to stay...Marketing101 Island Style...pay me then go away. If you voluntarily pay me, even though I give you nothing in return, it's not stealing...it's capitalism (Asian style)!:dnr:

I'd bet the local officials that would have to license said taxi wouldn't as they likely are running many trikes themselves. Then add in the traffic conjestion which is already a nightmare especially downtown due to 1 million trikes. Plus the fact a taxi would start out at 40 peso's while just about everywhere in town you can get to via trike for 20p or less per person and those with many are often still just 1 fair per person.

Dumaguete couldn't handle taxi's and would just be used by foreigners at best likely. The streets here are to narrow, to crowded, to much traffic, to slow of drivers especially trikes pulling at peak 25kph. Dumaguete does need to clean up its traffic issues if it wants to progress and grow much more but I personally see no way to do that without removing most trikes from the streets, ending parking on the major streets (like outside LMK), and other things that would p*ss off to many people.

From what I've seen over there, most internet cafes seem to do ok, although I'm not sure I'd want to own one Myself. With My luck all of the Computers would get stolen. I only say this because almost everytime I go into an internet cafe over there, whether it's in the Mall, at Scooby's or inside one of the smaller cafes along the Highway there always seems to be kids/teen agers gaming and the other half of the People in there { or in many cases the majority of the People in there } surfing Facebook.... Not sure how profitable it would be, but it may be worth looking into.... another profitable business over there would be another Pharmacy..They're always crowded, but I'm sure that requires one of the Parties to have a Degree in Pharmacy/Pharamacology....cheers

For internet cafe location is a major key along with having enough computers to turn a profit. I looked into it before and figure need at least 20 computers for use to turn a profit (plus means a couple more for managing and server). Rent can kill an internet cafe quick also along with large electricity bill and about 10k internet bill a month as well. Find a solid location though that is cheap though could work.

Go with providing services to overseas customers

I could not agree more with this idea. Before I moved here or had any inspiration to do so, 5+ years ago, I hired Filipinos on those sites mentions above on a regular basis. Most would be paid 15-25k per month depending on their skill set. The ones that build up a good review and rating base they could show to new employers would get much more. You could start her out as simple as data entry or video transcription and then progress the skill set from there. Its a portable skill, so no matter what happens at home she can work in any internet cafe and still earn money. I would bet doing this effectively after 1 year you could make more monthly then doing the same work on salary at the large outsourcing firms here in Dumaguete by Robinsons. Foreigners all over the world know about the benefits of outsourcing to the Phils and few have enough workload or spirit to hop on a plane to come over here, these online marketplaces love English speaking Phils for digital piece work.
