Now that I have the cellphones all straightened out....next question: We need to replace our broken remote for our t.v. and haven't had much luck finding a universal remote control in Dumaguete. Thought I would pick one up here in the U.S. while I am here. We have a TCL flat screen we bought in Manila, anybody have any luck with U.S. brand of universal remotes or do you know where we can get a good universal remote there?
    Thanks again!!

:( Biggest Draw back I found with a Universal Remote, was that it wanted to Control everything. When we turned the TV OFF, the d*mn Air conditioning went off too. YES! You Guessed, when we turned the Air Conditiong back On, the TV came on. Permres. Dont bother, stay with the remotes for the equipment you have bought.
It will save a lot of frustration believe me.

I like to impress the youngsters with stories from back in the day about having to actually get out of one's seat each time you wanted to change a channel or turn things on and off. Not quite up there with hiking 10 miles through snow to get to school but its the best I can come up with...

    Sad, BUT! How True!

 My daughter would never Believe me, if I told her that there were Once TV's that were manual. WALK! as with most In Dgte, it is NOT a word, in The Vocabulary here. Some time ago we had quite a Discussion on this very Subject. OH! well that's life in this Century I guess

they had a thing on the BBC awhile ago in memory of the Walkman..they showed one to a young notable music guy, a critic or some something to critique. He didn't realize you could turn the tape over, that there was music on both sides...lol

I've had good luck with G.E. universal remotes. The last one I bought in the hardware section of a Wallgreen's Drug store.

I got a universal voice-controlled remote, works fantastic...

just yelled "coffee" and 3 minutes later she walked into the office and brought me coffee.
still have problems with letting her change the TV channels, but I think that is more or less caused by not having a TV at home ...
