    Your request says you just moved here recently, Where are you living now? Most people I know here don't like house "sitters" as they seem to be a transient group whom may or may not be able to care for the home. If you live here now and plan to stay why not do what we all do. Rent a place and put your roots down....

    From someone who has 'housesat' a time or two I can give you a pointer on your ad. Never say you will be bringing a gf when watching someone's house. Wife is fine, but if someone is trusting you to watch over their valuables and they even think you will be bringing home strays then you will get a resounding NO.

    I don't recall the topic ever being brought up on this forum but I have read many threads on other sites that speak of horror stories when it comes to "house guests" or "foreign helpers" (stealing, screwing wives/gf's, not doing what was promised, bringing whores/"guests" into the house that end up stealing, etc). I'm sure there have been plenty of times where such an agreement worked out just fine...but most people are going to be put off by the horror stories and potential trouble. It's nothing personal, just people being being very cautious and wanting to avoid drama. Dealing with younger locals is far easier than dealing with older western men set in their ways. Just my 2 cents.
