Hi Folks, this is my first post since joining in August but I've been following everyone elses conversations with interest. I had hoped to have made a visit in September or October but events in UK and my son and his family emigrating to Perth took care of those months. Anyway, flights are booked and I hope to arrive in Dumaguete on Thursday 12 November for a couple of weeks. Starting off at the Palwa but intend to move around a bit and have some variety. I'll probably also chill out for a few days at either the Well Beach or Monarch Sands. Are there certain places and times that any of you meet up, or do I just take pot luck in bumping in to anyone. ?? Looking forward to getting there and meeting anyone and everyone, but give me a day to get over jet-lag, preferably with a beer in each hand.!!

I seem to recall reading somewhere on this Forum that Rhoody would kill for a decent garlic press. If that is still the case, let me know quickly before 7 pm Phils time on Tuesday, and I will bring one with me. I'm sure I'll collide with you somewhere.............

    Take care, one and all

    Roger.

    DEAL

    Roger, You are the man.
There are a few places where you see longnoses, so it is not to hard to see some guys. Palwa is a great place to start off as is Well beach or Tambobo (Monarch) to get a few quiet days in. I will contact my Palwa Angels when you are here and we can meet up for a cold one or two

    cheers

    Rhoody

Thats good order. Garlic press is packed and ready to go. By the way, I have heard that the Pacman is fighting this weekend, but I dont know if it is televised. If it is on TV, is there a gathering of expats anywhere meeting up to watch it ?? Just thought I'd ask, as it's of interest to me as a boxing referee .......

    Take care, one and all

    Roger

Have a great trip Broadside, well worth a visit to Coyotes bar, if it's still in business been rather quiet lately

FYI -- It's now called "The Black Pearl" and no longer Coyotes. We live very near there, and it does seem very quiet/empty as we pass by on a trike.

You have to go in to really see if and how many people are in.
That's also their problem according to me. You can't see well from the outside what the facility has to offer.
It's a nice place but passing it you won't be aware of its special ambiance.
I suggested quite some months ago to the lady of the management to hang-out some big billboards at the street side with pictures of what there is to find if you go inside.
    Not seen it yet however.
So maybe they run better than observed from your trike :D

Roger, thanks a lot, The garlic press is running hot and the my trusted junior assistant sales manager in the Sari-Sari shop around the corner (as there are no sales-girls in the "new" business language) is asking me what I do with all that garlic. Well, there was either strong wind or she had a running nose, if not she would have smelled it.... Another positive aspect... I can go to Robinsons during rush hour and have nobody coming closer than 3 meters whatever shop I go...

I owe you one or two... and some in between when you are back early 2010
