A stray bullet is a bullet that, after being fired from a gun, hits an unintended target. Such a shooting accident may occur during crossfire or celebratory gunfire.
Stray bullet - Wikipedia
So, where's the crossfire or celebratory gunfire in this case?
My intention with this post was actually to highlight the ridicelous reporting.

No where i came from 'they' use children as young as 5 or 6 (sometimes younger) to slip in under the Serving Grilles/ through small windows/ even down the Vent above the cookers etc to gain entry and rob you blind! And; they WILL pull a knife on you backed up by their Dingo Mob/Gang/Group to attack you, even in the main street in full view of CCTV if you try and stand up to them! Gangs or whatever you wish to call them/it/sugar coat it DO exist and good riddance IF they were partaking in this slimy activity. They train them young and many of those little pricks are just as hardened as the older ones before their 10th Birthday! Trust me I was very close to people who worked with these kids back in Australia who had extensive criminal records for car Jacking, Home invasions, Robbery with Violence etc by the time they were 10 years old! Age is no barrier to bad behaviour! No sympathy from me IF it was Gang related...-

Did they? Odd thing to admit to the police after a shooting. Maybe a bunch of scared children who had no idea what they were actually saying would.
The person who pulled the trigger did.
Do we know if the kids said they were in a gang or was it assumed by the police? I don't recall the article mentioning where that information came from. And even if they were in a gang that does not mean "case closed". Two wrongs don't make a right. The person who murdered a 13 year old child should be hunted down.
A group of 13 year old children is not a gang....no matter if they call themselves that or not. The knobheads were celebrating a 4 year anniversary, meaning they were 9 years old when they formed their "gang". Come on, they were likely just a group of friends who thought they were being tough/cool. They did not deserve to die and the kids death should be investigated. We all said, did and thought extremely stupid things at that age. Luckily, we didn't grow up in a country where people go around shooting teens for being idiots....because every single one of us wouldn't be alive today.-

Well the poor kid is dead. The other kids there probably told the cop they were celebrating the anniversary of their gang (maybe the dead kid even admitted it as he was still alive until he got to the hospital). So no one was handing out judgement. Quite the opposite, actually. The other kids told police the area was dimly lit and they couldn’t identify the assailant. The cop made no judgement or investigation of any kind, it seems. When the kids said they were in a gang and they could not identify the assailant it was "case closed".-
