We had the same issue with the sand, eventually destroyed the pump and blocked up the small filters in the taps. Easily rectified by the sand filter. Citi hardware p2000 inc all fittings.
If you get any more probs go speak to Noel in citi hardware, great guy and knowledgable about these issues.

The dropping water pressure is probably water flowing backwards through the pump and into the ground level reservoir.
This is easily corrected by adding a check valve between the pump and the ground level reservoir. The check valve acts like a diode and will stop the back flow.
Most water pressure pumps have a check valve built-in, but not here in the Philippines, go figure.- Agree x 2

I was only without water pressure in Sibulan for one day because of a break being fixed. Enough pressure at all times other than the break to take a shower. After 9:30 am and before 9:00 pm I could take warm showers because the pipes leading to my apartment were exposed to the sun.

ah.., what plug and pull?
pull and plug works like this; up here. it's a low flow gravity system and there's about 10 households on our ½'' CTS feeder line. if we need water, we go to the feeder line and pull it apart at a snug sleeved connection and plug our line into the wet end end of it. when we have our water, we pull our line out and put the line back together so others can get water. a small pita but it works.
ya know... it's kinda like the no stop sign intersections here, it works!!!
if ya didn't know: CTS is the black plastic water line you see running thru the bushes/coconut trees, it's kinda like some of the noreco tree to tree power lines up here. it works most of the time...- Informative x 2
- I was wondering about that too! x 1

It seems like with the drought, we have been hearing about, that at minimum a storage tank my be wise. It would ensure you have enough water to survive. I assume most people use bottle water do drink. I pay 25 P per bottle for water delivered to my house, which may be cheaper that piped in water. At minimum I can cook and even do "short" bathing if necessary with bottled water. Depending on the Utility company to deliver anything here constantly and timely is a huge assumption, just think about your internet and electricity services.
