I also have the same setup which works great except during brownouts where I see the tower having the advantage.

If you have adequete pressure from your source you can configure a tank bypass or utilize a generator to power the pump.

    I don't know.
For the life of me I just do not understand why anyone would even consider a UGLY Water Tower on their property? the cost to build in metal is likely to be far more than any simple pressure system, then there is future maintenance of the Metal, also what if the tank needs cleaned it is just that bit more problematic way up high and perhaps unlikely to be done? to build in Concrete is likely to be twice the price of metal?
Maybe someone can explain to me if there is any good reason to have a Tower? I just cannot understand why people build a nice house only to detract from it by installing an Ugly High Tower with an Ugly shiny Bestank on top, maybe these are the same people that have the silver decal all around the doors of their cars?

For the majority of those people with them, a water tank on a tower is a necessity - particularly for those not connected to an overrated, and often dirty, municipal supply. The tank may be ugly but it guarantees a finite supply when the power is off - without the tank they'd have no water.

As an added bonus - my tower also provides a safe and habitable environs for a nesting pair of Oriental Magpie Robins and some Asian House Martins. It may be "ugly" but it serves a purpose and definitely has its benefits - a bit like some JIFs.

Thought about it for a while, even googled it but no, you'll have to explain it, sorry.

For us "simple coyntry folk" there's not much choice. There isn't any muni water out here and I ain't gonna hand pump my daily baths nor use a dipper for flushing the toilet (I prefer showers).

Senjenbing hit a few points..nice work

Other reasons: knowing that I have a 5-7 day supply of water at any given time so if the power goes out for 3 or 4 days like earlier this year, is comforting that the major change in our daily routine was not watching tv. Dogs still got to cool off when we turned the hose on. Same goes if a big storm comes we will not be in line waiting on a truck to fill buckets and bottles.
That said, the water out here is CLEAN, but the test was a few years ago and I dont trust anyone upstream.

No need to start the generator during Norcco 12 hour off times.

The tower also allows for LONG hoses to be used in the garden, or mixing cement, or whatever other reason there is for water without using the preasure pump.

The tower doesn't need to be ugly, we have hybiscus using it as a guide , it is turning into a living wall.
Around the base we have smaller potted plants.

The tower alows for additional illumination, we have an electric street light, 2 solar lights, and 4 CCTV cameras providing added security to that section of property.

The tower allows us to have multiple houses without drilling multiple boarholes, each house on property has its own underground line, just need to add a "T" connector.

During times of drought (2019) when other wells were dry or needed time to have water seap unto and refill the water table/ resevoir, we were able to keep building our house.

Having a good supply of water on hand means the preasure pump is not working as often or as hard, thus it will not burn out as quickly. My neighbor has replaced the motor on his pump a few times already, he does't have a tower.

For cleaning, our blue tank (not shinny) hasn't had any buildup yet (3rd year) when it does I will get a skinny guy to go in there and clean it, or I will add 250ml of bleach and fluch out all the pipes.

Unlike the baranguy and city water lines I know mine are polypipe, no need to concern myself with rusting pipes or cracking PVC that are being replaced, making things more difficult in town (shrimp, talapia, and laundry services are all having problems in addition to the redùced preasure).

The water from the tower is not for drinking, and we would not drink tap/city water even if it was available (no ice in my Mcdonalds coke).

I know I started this post about building a new one, and out here I wouldn't want to not have it.

Or you can just send the good wife out to collect water.

I could try but my wife would shoot me and, if I am lucky, feed me to the dogs.
