Thanks much for having us. We are currently living in California, and I say currently as we are looking at early retirement options, and my wife Eda's former home of Dumaguete, specifically the Valencia area is a strong possibility in the next 5 years or so. We are planning a trip, likely next Jan-Feb (2016) to spend some time there and check out possibilities for buying land, or renting/buying existing property.
Valencia is a nice choice. I've been there since 2010 myself. Have you made a trip to Dumaguete/Philippines before?
Yes, we visited together one time, in 1998. I can see it has changed quite a bit since then, but I loved the place, especially escaping the city out in to the provinces.
I can't even imagine how much it has changed since '98 (I don't think I was even old enough to drive in '98 ). My first trip to the Philippines was in 2005 and it has changed immensely since then.....or at least my perception of it has. I guess that happens when you live in any given location for a long time.
