Hi everybody and let me start by thanking all of you for your support in our quest to build the #1 Dumaguete and Surrounding area website.

I have changed the forum around a little to make it easier and more logical to navigate.

I have also added a Bohol forum, because I think Bohol has a lot to offer as well for people living in or visiting Dumaguete. Variety is the spice of life!!!

I have been temporarily disconnected from the internet in almost three weeks, thanks to a broken monitor. After having abandoned some pending research work on dgte - rizal boulevard, specifically - I made a stop at google and guess what? www.dumagueteinfo.com has made it to number one. way to go!

Message boards are good candidates for high search engine rankings...lots of relevant content that is constantly updating.

By the way, I have noticed a lot of members who didn't include their location. I know you can't require this field, but it is always interesting to me to see where visitors are coming from. For instance, I would love to know which posters are in Dumaguete (such as waterbaby74  ).

Hello to all and ......."The Dane"....Are you...."Danish"?....I am, so just wondering..I have cousins in Copenhagen.
    I wanted to ask you....
I am "involved" with a nice Lady in Dumaguete and have been talking...writing and calling each other for over a year now.
We have plans to bring here her on a visitors visa and then marry..
I was set to go there last year...But a heart attack changed that..
She will be in Manila on the 20th of this month for her visa hearing and hopefully here next month.
Dumaguete from all I have heard....read .....and seen...seems like a really nice place and nice people..
So why are there so many Ladies there trying to come here?
She is a school teacher and graduate of Silliman....
Any advise on my plans...or suggestions from you would really be welcome and appreciated...

    Thanks......Take care....

Dumaguete's a beatuiful city, but it's tough to live when your making pesos. If the best you can hope for is to make $30 -$50 a month, would you look elsewhere for opportunities? Dumaguete's a great place, but it's a better place to be from.

If you want further advise, ask Dumagitnon.

    hello,

from what I´ve seen, noticed, learned, most filipinas want to marry a foreingner, a westerner most especially, because mostly of financial reasons. Love is usually a second reason, although there are many who fell in love with each other and have a wonderful life together. Philippines, I agree, is a beautiful country. Only one must really learn to live and survive to really appreciate the beauty of being here, to enjoy a cultural way of filipino life and most of all accept the hardships a filipino encounters on daily basis. Most modern filipinas, to be honest, find it difficult to be poor, or being in a tropical temperature, and marrying a co/filipino does not give them the lesiure or contentment of life. It's sad to know that this is mostly the case, but it is happening.

    greetings,

    belle

    Again,

If you think you will be happy in the Philippines, you should try living here for months and persuade your girlfriend to be open with possibilities with you. Philippines has mostly what westerners prefer to spend their pension for as long as they can. It's cheap, it's tropical, and people are friendly for as long as you are kind towards the locals, as well. If this is a good idea for you, then do some research.

    Greetings,

    belle
