    Bayawan has a new mayor now who is foreigner friendly. Its a great little place with a great boulavard and as you say its clean or the cleanest ive seen. Mostly elec trikes in the town same as sta catalina. It just lacks infrastructure and rentals as of now but im sure they will come as the small malls will.

    Just a few of pix from recent trips to Bayawan (2009-2015). I had uploaded some to the old forum but some of the links don't seem to work anymore. I figured I'd save Dustin some disk space and try Flickr this time. Nice town, but so many family there that for us it's just for visiting! I didn't include any captions, but the titles of the individual pictures should do.

    A few more pics of the new pure gold mall,parking up both sides and infront.
    Opposite at C and L suites they are actually spending some money starting on the 4th floor. Long overdue.

    You can do better than that if you head out about 30 minutes before day break. Nary a soul about. Just keep an eye out for the drunks still wandering around from last night.

    The trip may take 8-10 if you go from Bayawan to dumagiete to bacold.
    Bayawan direct to Bacolod is not that far as they are both on the same side of the island. I'm GUESSING but I think about 3-4 hours should get you there.

    Having been a Dumaguetena from birth, I consider Bayawan too far from where I live. Commuting there from Dumaguete takes ages. It is a nice place though.

    Check out the road from Bayawan going towards Mabinay. There's no town similar to Valencia up there, but it's a nice drive, elevation and views.

    Thank you for that offer. But it seems to be the wrong location for me. I like to have a somewhat decent hospital in the area and that seems not to be true in Mamburao. Bayawan seems to be a better location for a living with all the future upgrades coming soon.

    Electric tricycles used...good deal.

    But, there are many, many motorbikes!

    Lots of ladies there too for you interested people :wink:
