I'm 17 and I'm going to be a certified diver soon and I want to know from your experience your top ten Dive sites.
Welcome to this forum welenemalker. If all we know so far from you that you soon will be a certified diver then the question comes to my mind why you want to know from divers of this forum of Dumaguete what the top 10 dive sites in the WORLD are. My advise is: take several months (or even years !) to become a real experienced diver. I am sure that in that period you will have read (and maybe also learned) a lot of different aspects of diving (like wreck-, deep-,drift-,cave-,etc....etc... -diving). If you e.g. don't know yet what cave diving requires and how thrilling it can be (by doing it) then you don't need to be advised by someone about the best cave diving locations in the world. The best dive sites in the WORLD can be hardly defined. I could however imagine that lists are being made by divers who have been on many locations all over the world per each specific type of diving. If you are living is this area of the Philippines, try first to enjoy the UW-sceneries in the waters around Apo Island, Dauin, Siquijor, Moalboal etc.. Once you have become a fanatic wreck diver, you certainly will try to go to Truck Lagoon. Some divers judge the clear UW-visibility combined with big fishes like sharks as the optimum diving-thrill where others do much more appreciate the diversity of the UW-species or just only the encounters with the biggest fishes on earth and don't mind so much the less visibility. I hope I made it clear. It is hard (imo impossible) to make a Top X list of dive sites without first making categories of dive-interests (coral, animals, fish, plants, wrecks/landscape/caves, visibility, temperature (!!) ...etc Enjoy diving, and succes with the certification.
