Agree with the lists of PatO (esp. "The Departed") & stevewatson, and also with PatO's observation, I seem to be interested in fewer & fewer of the new movies coming out. But based on recommendation of someone else (can't remember who) right here on DI, just watched "Life of PI" a few days ago and thought it was great. Spectacular visual efffects, and a plot with some meat (and fish ) to it. A few other favorites - I always find myself sitting down and watching if they come on TV: "Goldfinger" - Connery's the best Bond, Brosnan second. Craig's OK, but seems like they are already ageing him out. "You Only Live Twice" - Bond in Japan - watching as a young lad must have imprinted me with a fondness for Asian gals "Witness" (Harrison Ford). "Starship Troopers" - OK, I admit, not great cinema LOL! "Something About Mary" - One of the funniest modern comedies IMHO "Big Fish" - If not familiar, Tim Burton directed Ewan MacGregor, Albert Finney and Jessica Lange. It's our family's "Father's Day movie" Among newer movies, Wrye83, I've been touting "Idiocracy" to friends for awhile. A real sleeper and hilarious! And I didn't think I'd enjoy "Avatar", but did, probably more for visuals than plot.
LOL, was just thinking that, and, if the movie describes what the US will be like, what will the Philippines have "evolved" to by then?
