⌛ What is the best place to stay in Maasin City?

I would also ask the best route from Dumaguete to Maasin? I will need a place with good wifi access too. Thanks a lot.

 

I never heard of maasin! Is it in Mindanao?

 

no sir, not mindanao but eastern visayas area. maasin city, is in southern leyte.

I live in northwestern Leyte, Ormoc. There are a few ways to get to Maasin from Dmgte.

You could go to Cebu via bus or slow or fast boat, then ride a fast craft (SuperCat or Weesam) to Ormoc (about 2 1/2 hours) or take a slow boat for about 8 hours, then take a bus or van to Maasin. That bus or van ride will be about 3 hours minimum.

I am certain there is a slow boat from Cebu to Maasin but I don't know the schedules etc. My asawa says the fast craft was cancelled some time ago. The slow boat is Cokaliong - I have no idea how long it takes.

Probably also a way to go through Surigao to Maasin but I have no idea any particulars.

Of course, you could also fly to Manila, fly to Tacloban, then van or bus to Maasin, but I didn't think you wanted to avail of that!

ampil pension house is very near maasin port,and also just few meters from ampil there is a hotel i just forgot the name but you can see that hotel from the port its a pink hotel..
