I found Gunther to be VERY responsive to customers..... If you are not happy for any reason I am sure he would correct it..... when you deviate from the standard menu there is sometimes an additional cost..... and this charge was really sort of petty.....but I have known Gunther to give away free Jeaggermister (sp)..... and that stuff is not cheap
He believes in customer service so if you had complained....I believe he would have removed the extra charge.... this is really much to do about nothimg

Maybe...back when he had the grand opening, there was a sign out front saying All Day Buffet or something like that. We went there at about 5 and were told that the buffet wasn't until 6 or 7.. When I later asked Gunther why the sign said All Day, he just looked at me like I was the one getting it wrong.

His place isn't that busy at dinner hour for some reason.

I'll just bring my own butter next time, or opt for the free? salsa they recommended previously.

The continuous absurd points of service that crop up at various establishments never seem to end.

    How true! Point taken BUT!

:( It is a sad fact that a US presidents words are so true, " You can please SOME Of the People All the Time, ALL the people some of the Time BUT NEVER! all the people ALL the time." as my Grandfather used to say to me, BOY! you will only ever have ONE chance, to make a First Impression. If any Service, Purchase, Meeting is not to your liking, Move on. " If things Don't Change they will STAY as there are. There are Countless eateries in Dgte, just ask exactly! what you want when ordering. Add ones will be charged. This is a fact of life. Costing a meal is an art, to the Chef/Owner, if they are to get it right and to our liking. Alternatives or Substitutes cost them money. This is always passed on. If my next CB meal is 20p extra, I will know why? Come on members, this is 20p that's all, You have to ask yourself, "Did you enjoy the Butter?" Yes? then I think it was worth it. NO? time to go elsewhere.

And this is from the DI's worst (Well nearly) moaner
I still say, my signature says it all.

    Honesty!

 KDF! I live by an Honest thought. IF I can't afford to go out, I DON'T go.
Popping off at People/Places is just a get out, for a bad night. Attitude is a bad word. Issues can be a hazard to life, to me this ISSUE, is an ATTITUDE!
Right or wrong. In the UK, if you would take your own Butter, you would pay CORKAGE at about 20%. Is it all worth the hastle. NO I dont think so.:p

When we go to CB, if I order a steak, I always ask for extra mash potatoes, my wife asks for extra mushrooms when she orders a dish she likes, if we are charged extra because we asked for extra, seems fair to me. I don't look at the bill because I trust the establishment.

Lol! Maybe they dont put "butter" to their bread at all times, that's why it was being charged. It will be same as the "Shawarma" back there in Globe bldg near the Boulevard, they dont put "Onions" to their shawarma...I was shocked! Its the 1st time I tasted something like that. In Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Manila, Subic and Cebu where I tried eating it, they have onions on it. lol!

Out of pure curiosity Jack, how much would the corkage be for a pat of butter?

I agree in part, but I prefer to address my concern with the owner or at least the manager before severing a relationship with the business.

I think many business owners are not aware of the actions of their underlings here and, given the opportunity will and do make things right.
