Well to each their own. Personally if the bug hadn't eaten too much I would have just flipped it on the floor. You must have lived a very sheltered life. I am guessing you were never in the military.

Frankly, that was my reaction too, all due respect and no denigration intended... Dumaguete ain't swank Manhattan. If they removed the piece of fish-skin where the bug was, that oughtta be enough assuming they apologize to ya -- you can't expect them to lose money on throwing it out (well, i suppose the staff would happily eat it), and they would appreciate your forbearance... Or maybe i'm too soft.

Agreed a little extra protein isn't gonna hurt anything..I had a friend who works for KFC and i don't know how many times the cooks dropped a cigarette but in the fryer, if you eat anything local there is guaranteed flies have done the square dance on it lots of times before it even hit the pot.. the worst that could happen is you would get cleaned out.. people in the States pay big money to get detoxified,,here its free.. did you ever drink a fly in your beer,, first time goes down a bit hard but you will get used to it..

Maybe you missed their sign out front, 'Today's Special, Surf and Turf'.

Had a relative way back when in the States that worked at Campbells soup company. He saw a guy more than once spit his chaw of tobaccy into the tomato soup. Bon apetite'
Try Googling like the U.S. FDA and see how much "rat poop" is allowable in just about everything you eat. Oh, wanna talk "hot"dogs

After reading another post where the owner was on vacation, I have one + to post.
We went to Casablanca last night. Guenther and Fely are on a well-deserved vacation in Europe but no problem! The service was attentive, polite, and friendly. The chef (Ronny) prepared our favorite dishes and they were great and were served at the same time, and the wine enjoyable. My date was lovely as usual. We made it home without running over the aholes with no tail lights on south hiway. Just another beautiful night in paradise. Gotta love it!

    Cafe Laguna

We have never had a bad experience at Cafe Laguna (inside Hotel Nicanor). It is Filipino food only, but always fresh, exotic (well more exotic than normal Filipino food) and very well priced. Jane and I had a great light meal there last week and it was only 400 pesos. The service is good, and they have something very rare... very clean bathrooms. We have been about a dozen times and never had a bad experience.

Yup, neither Casablanca nor Laguna have ever disappointed us, on several visits each. the Jutz Cafe remains a standard favorite for good but cheap Italian, however!

I had good experiences with Jutz Cafe specially their 30" pizza, yummm but the last time i was there i ordered pizza again and the waiter said their oven is under repair so no pizza for now so i said i will order BLT sandwich and the waiter said its also not available. Maybe they ran out of bacon so i ordered Ham and egg sandwich, good thing its available. Im glad i had my good friend with me to pass the time, their sandwiches took 30 mins to prepare but its worth it!! yummy yummy food
