Can you share that info please? It would translate pretty well for a lot of us but its one of those items that is seldom heard but rarely seen.

I get there tomorrow. Late. Like 6:00 pm. The minute I get the particulars I will share. I'm hoping she is not ill informed. Shouldn't be. She's been there awhile. Drop a line soon.

Hey Dave et al. Yes, as many might find hard to believe I think I screwed up the numbers on car & driver------considerably. After some hazy back and forth with the source on a different matter which was more of a priority , I'm thinking "the driver" , for 350-P comes with the rent a car for 8-hours. Sorry for the confusion and when I know the exact dealio I'll let you know. Again. Sorry.

That was the fantasy that we were hoping you had found and would share.
This is the reality that most of us live with. But even with all the problems, I still think its a reasonable place to call home.

You don't know how much I hope you're correct. I'm a spoiled American who doesn't want to give in to the term "Ugly." I've had a good life with the gadgets, and gizmos. As a wise man once said...."when we travel it's looking inward." I need this. Thanks.

I only now saw this comment on here about hillbilly mountain boys. It so happens I am from the hills of Kentucky and I have probably been more places, seen more sh*t and done more than you ever dreamed of. So, my question to you is "Why would you think that where I am from has anything to do with my education or my knowledge about the world and the people in it? And your statements make it seem that you are the true redneck.

Kentucky hillbillies generally don't have a high level of education. Only 84% of children graduate highschool (ranked 45/50), 22% get a bachelors degree (47/50), and 9% get an advanced degree (36/50). His comments and these statistics are not a personal attack against you or me; I was born in Kentucky...though luckily not raised there. (I say luckily because the people I know from there are reflective of these statistics...there are a few that managed to escape and make something of themselves but they are not your "average" hillbilly.) Also, other "hillbilly states" rank very low on the education attainment statistics. :sneaky:

Back on topic, why do expats love Dumaguete, I don't think there are many of us who actually "love" Dumaguete. We appreciate that it is a lower cost of living than our homelands, the weather pretty nice overall, and the two legged deer are plentiful and attractive and willing to accept mature men as long as you can provide (and everything provide implies).
For many here, there is a thin line between a comedy and a tragedy.

What are the advantages of Dumaguete vs. similar cities like Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, Tagum, Ormoc or other cities like Bacolod or Iloilo? Or vs. smaller cities like Tanjay, Bais or Bayawan?
