wow... :o o: Just; WOW...
Reading this thread made me chuckle and reinforces WHY I keep telling the Wife an Eatery here would be a major PITA!

I eat, I reckon 95% of everything available here (except a few items which are bad for my Blood condition) and I would not know the difference between a Catfishes Butt or a Salmon's Lips, Root Beer or Fancy Shmancy Wine etc... :meh:

I am so happy my Mother raised me along the lines of; Me; "What's for Tea Mum?" Mum; "Shyte on a stick, if you don't like it then eat the stick!" (Something I now tell my Wife and Daughter here everytime they ask me what I am cooking! hehe)

I reckon if we opened an Eatery; ''Shyte on a Stick'' and several other memorable dishes Mum use to make would appear on our Menu List! hehe

Just to keep this on Topic I no longer eat at Jolibee... Yeah, can you believe that? *SNORRK*

Filipinos seem perfectly content with "shyte on a stick", shyte on a plate or shyte in a bowl. Make it as unwelcoming to expats as possible (no aircon, only a small fan that couldn't alter the flight plan of a fly, cheap plastic chairs that can't support anyone over 60kg, keep flies in stock and keep food sitting out for 6 hours before serving) and you probably won't hear any complaints. Any expat that dares to take the risk will be happy they didn't contract AIDS from the meal and the review, if they aren't too embarrassed to post about it, will be a positive "I survived!".

And you know what? I keep telling my Wife IF she does do it, NOT to cater for Foreigners! THAT I believe is the number one rule for success here!

Actually I don't know why the administrator let you pass this insulting and inflammatory comment. There is only one question and conclusion: Why the hell you come to settle down in the Philippines. You should have stayed in the US (?) having chars holding over 180 KG, no flies in your on your meal in Mc Donalds (if there is you sue them for a million dollars), contracting AIDS from eating food in the Philippines ??. You must be a very dumb and low class person. My friends, my wife and myself want to tell you: Go home, you do not belong to the Philippines. We don't want you here.

P.S. Please don't tell me YOU are not the administrator ?

    Spice in Valencia

Managed to go from only place in Valencia I wanted to go - to ain't gonna waste my time going there again. All in one visit last week.

Have been there many times, including several times that I texted in the morning to inquire if the Slow Cooked Ribs (for me) and the Shrimp Pad Thai (for my wife) would be on the specials that day. Talk about customer service - every time I did that they made sure those two items were in the specials list that day!

HOWEVER - last week, after doing the same thing and bringing another couple with us, we 'got hit in the face with a frying pan' by the nasty recipe changes. Not only was the BBQ sauce, previously so awesome I would order it as a dip for fries ect, recipe changed to taste like liquid saw dust, the Pad Thai had magically jumped out of the bowl it was previously tastily served in, onto a plate of tasteless nastiness.

We felt like idiots for suggesting the place and talking up how good it is. If only one thing was "off" I would have said something. Since almost everything was changed it was obviously a change in their philosophy.

Or a new cook. Restaurants are only as good as the cook. If he takes a day off or quits then things go downhill fast. Then there are the ingredients and the management but I believe a good cook can overcome those obstacles. Then again, the cook may have been in a tuba coma that day. :devilish:

Agree! The Cook here today was going to cook my favourite; "Banana Peel Burgers" but partway through cooking, realised we were out of Eggs and Flour, so skipped to "Fried Pork and Banana Peels with Rice" instead. Adversity changed the course of Lunch and saved the day, and judging by the sample I just partook in, I know I will be having an extra serving! "My Kitchen" is one establishment I will not give up on in any hurry! hehe

We were there yesterday. food was good but could not git what we went there for. seems they are developing cultural habit of 'not available sir'. 3 choices we made were 'no stock'.

This review shows why it is good to have people here who can tell us the negatives so we are forewarned and can save our money and time for the best eating-out places.

So those who complain about (what they call) 'complainers' need to realise that we cannot just write a string of positives but have to use this forum to warn about the negatives in all aspects of life here. As long as that is done without insults then it is fine and any establishment has to be able to accept it OR lose customers.
