See what a fun thread I started? We went into Fantasy for a beer tonite. OMG, what a hole in the wall. Two drunk foreigners fawning over some fat chick. Nobody on stage. All other employees asleep in chairs. Still the same "s-hole" it was 3 years ago on my last visit. A road checkpoint prevented us from going any further north. Dumaguete is pretty hopeless for any nitelife. I still say the area needs a nice one like Puerto Galera has.

Libertarianism (from Latin: libertas, meaning "freedom") is a collection of political philosophies and movements that uphold liberty as a core principle. Libertarians seek to maximize political freedom and autonomy, emphasizing freedom of choice, voluntary association, and individual judgment.
And then:
Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty, consent of the governed, and equality before the law.
I see the subtle difference... equality. Such a terrible thing to have forced upon us?- Like x 1

Because there's no market for that here. Or there's nobody here who has the competence to give it a good run. Or it's just not worth bothering with.
The places which exist right now are all complete s*itholes. The crowd is almost all locals.
Management has been up and down in these places. At times they have been okay-ish and snag a handful of foreigners. Mostly they are just complete dumps staffed with bad attitudes.
Again, I think think any sort of bar (even these sorts) can attract people if they look good and are managed well. It's easy for us to think that someone should dump a bunch of time and money into starting one. Even if you did, there's the uncertainty of laws around running such a place. Laws have changed over time. These places have been raided and shutdown in the past. Better to just throw some chairs and tables in a crap building for nothing and hope for the best. Which is pretty much what you get out there today.
