Yes, this is for Dumaguete City only. They seem to be really cracking down for some reason even as gov degamo signaled a possible relaxation to GCQ in the province BEFORE April 30x. There is a total liquor ban in the city. I don’t think ban thus ban applies to outskirts like Valencia...bought some beer at local sari-sari store 3 days ago but all they had left was 3 small bottles of San Miguel Pilsen; maybe dumaguetenos coming up here and buying us out (Valencia) lol. More likely, deliveries stopped. I’m sure the Pilsen ban from sar-sari stores and supermarkets will drive down the numbers hehe. It looks like travel within Valencia is reasonably smooth but City is strictly locked down and haven’t been inside the city since ECQ started due to lack of Q-Pass from Barangay. Hopefully Duma rules will align with NO province at end of month so we can get groceries at Hypermart. Sari-sari does have plenty of eggs due to local commercial chicken farm nearby and we could live on rice and eggs if we had to. Perhaps Barangay did not give us Q-Pass because wife and I are over 65 and there is 24 hour curfew for elders; younger helpers went back to Siquijor while they still could so we are in a fix. Please don’t suggest going to Barangay for help... we tried. They don’t care. I guess foreigners >65 are on their own; life goes on.

I dated one for a short while. Minus the turning grey water into black water thing.

Since that liquor ban rumors began I find myself buying much more liquor than usual, since I'm always thinking "who knows, might be the last time you get something". Guess the Mayor missed the day at school when they were giving the "prohibition and why it doesnt work" lesson.

Also good that the birdie numnum brewery is just outside the city borders

My point was (again, sorry) about generalisation. I was married to one and visited a few times. I found them very welcoming (apart from the father-in-law initially) and hospitable. They are different, that's all. I also found the culture fascinating and wish that we had had more time together for me to delve into it more (but then I wouldn't have met my crazy and stunning wife of now, so everything has a silver lining).

Your point about cheap and shoddy Chinese goods is spot on though. It seems that the market here is flooded with them. Things that seem to be designed to stop working 3 days after you get them home. That's not my experience back home though, Chinese goods have to stand up in quality to other brands, so I can only conclude that retailers here are buying at the bottom end of the market, goods that the local populace can afford.

The rules are not mine or you'd be allowed to drink all you want.
However there would be no loud mufflers on any machine that takes more than 25 seconds to do a quarter mile and pretty girls would be required to wear bikinis.
Oh and all karaoke machines would be destroyed. LoL

Negros Oriental now on General Quarantine. I do not know the rules and restricions, although I heard them (CNN Philippines) say elderly and children stay at home.
