So it's official. I'm getting old. For the first time I am almost lost on how to get a PC to do the basics. Just got my new computer in the mail today. I had to compromise for windows 8 because anyone building PC's with a Linux OS preloaded had prices that were just ridiculous. To get the equivalent hardware I would have had to spend an extra grand for Linux (and this thing was 1k USD). Now that I have it I'm kinda wishing I had spent the extra 1k just to avoid the headache of learning this OS, which is essentially a souped up version of a Windows Phone. I tried a Windows phone a year ago and hated it......I should have known. Time to get on Youtube and learn this sloppy OS. If this laptop weren't a touch screen I would be completely lost on how to even close an app (well, they kept AltCtrlDel and task manager so there is THAT way....ugh what a mess). It's scary feeling old and unable to operate a computer. Instructions sent with the computer are just pictures with very few actual written explanations.....and what is written appears to just be jibberish and made up terminology that is manufacturer specific. ("display the charms".....i mean really, that isn't computer terminology. Sounds like they have fairies running the OS.....if I clap if I believe in fairies will it do what I want..."charms", maybe once I figure out how to adjust my clock I will be forced to register for the next Gay Pride parade.) *sigh* It only explains how to use the OS with the touch screen, the mouse pad seems to be pointless outside of the browser. Alright, guess I should get back to my charm book and figure out some spells to make this thing work.
In case anyone is lost on the basics this one helped me out. This should get you on a level one charm caster. That guy looks a lot like the actor that OD'd on heroin a couple months ago.
Maybe you have an apple product and don't have flash capabilities. The only thing worse than the Window's security vulnerabilities and Linux incompatibility is Apple's unusability.
