    Interest in this topic seems to have dwindled (like 2 yrs ago) so i'll highjack it, although highjacking is one of my pet peeves on forums, whether california or dumaguete. I noted PatO's posts on his email hacking, and found this.

    My next question to you oldtimers here, if one were to install a CCTV system (wired or wireless), what would you do with the information ? Is your system monitored ?? Has anyone ever called the cops, do they respond, any experience appreciated ....

    From what I have heard, there are no monitoring companies here. I have a new system that I brought from the States a year ago, and never installed it. I have a Digital Video Recorder with it. It can record everything for the past month, and you can go back and see what happened, should someone break in. I will be selling the system soon, because I do not need it. So, since there is no one monitoring it, I would suggest getting one that can call your cel phone, you can monitor on the internet, and has a DVR.

    Who in their right mind would want to provide a video feed to a company in the Philippines? Sounds like a great way to find yourself in a nasty blackmail situation or have the government take a look at what's going on in your house.

    I could see allowing a monitoring service to have access to motion, door and window sensors but with the technology today you can easily cut out that service and just have alarms notify you on your phone and quickly check the video feed yourself. Keep the police on speed dial and make that call yourself if needed. If you were worried about the police not being able to find your place you could get some very loud sirens that could be activated by your phone letting everyone in a 1km radius know something is going on in your house. :D

    Ace Logic can either provide or order from Manila home CCTV system to monitor your house or gate or whatever. Many options available but distance from house to target is limited.

    Or you can order the same system they get from alixpress for almost half the price (including shipping and duty). The local prices are absolutely ridiculous compared to online options.
