Today's Little start off Trivia made me a Little reminiscent, Seems Technology is moving Forward by taking a couple of steps back. I remember way back in the 50's, My Grandparents had a Gas Fridge. Now this. Of Course we must never, stand in the way of Progress but does the Title raise a question or two? Would you put a gas-powered iPhone charger in your pocket? JP
Let me think about this: I have a choice of putting a container (different than a sealed disposable lighter) of lighter fluid in my pocket, and then creating an electrical charge... (hmmm electrical charge and lighter fluid.. that will make the Philippines much more fun) and spending $99 in advance to get one of these things... or I can take a small amount of money and buy a second battery. I really do not think that is much of a decision to make. My first phone call after loading my charger with lighter fluid and creating an electrical charge will be something like this: Hon, i hope I can satisfy you tonight. I just refilled my battery charger with lighter fluid spilling a very small amount on my right pants leg. When I tired to recharge my phone, something happened while smoking my cigar . .... fire rushed up my pants legs, and I started singing the Christmas carol... "chestnuts burning....." I think with the one testicle I have left I may be able to make you happy. Go easy on me tonight I still hurt a little By the way, please dig my old battery charger out of the trash can. I think I will start using the old antique thing again. Modern technology hurts sometime.Thank Hon."
A second batter only gets you one extra charge (and not all phones allow you to remove the batter). This thing claims to get at least 11 full charges. Not bad for a bit of lighter fluid...though I doubt the airlines will ever allow, which is about one of the only places it would be useful to the average person. I have a small battery that you charge prior to making a trip that will get me at least 3 full charges. Pretty useful since I don't have the ability to take the battery out of my phone and I frequently get stuck in places with no outlets.
