Too bad people can't be employed sorting the trash BEFORE it goes to the dump.

I would question calling it news more than it's accuracy, if you don't know, it's because you didn't want to know or you lead a very sheltered life.

The article seemed relatively unbiased even if the premise that the government was directly responsible for it was flawed. The government does not want them there, it's a cash business, there are no tax piso in it.

I do wonder how intelligent the Socialists media are, you don't dig people out with power equipment any more than you would with explosives, for the same reason, you would kill more than you save. The little girl without a head probably had one, before the backhoe, not that shovels aren't bad enough.

When I first looked at the Philippines as a place to live one of the first things I ran across was a video of families who made their living at a dump. It was sobering. I can even understand the reluctance of the people scavenging to leave, it may not be much but there is security because people will not stop making trash.

Robert what actually struck me was that there could be so much rubbish built up that it could bury and kill 800 + people , just incredible.

When the garbage pickup truck would come thru My Wife's village(accompanied by no less than six workers) the way they woulld sort thru the garbage sorting glass, plastics etc. I would be surprised if anything of value ended up in the Landfill. Including food and soda pop. I use to joke to my wife as they came along the street, Look Hun here come's the lunch truck. I personally watched as they drank whatever was left in a plastic or glass bottle before they placed it in a sort bag. :(

I am making this apology to Charlie T for my over done response earlier , in hindsight he was trying to keep things on the level and did not deserve my reply post , but I still believe the initial post was in order , I would just suggest that if general members are going to moderate , they read the whole thread and look at it in it's entirety . It is not difficult to see if someone is making a political statement , which that definitely was not.

    Regards Tony

I'm going to go out on a limb and say i believe Charlie T may have been making a facetious(treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant) comment. Something of course I NEVER do. LOL don't think he meant it as an affront to you. But of course I have been wrong before.....once O-xII

About the only way I could make sense of it , if it was facetious , I could have worded my reply a bit more diplomatically though , what do you expect my ancestors were convicts , I should have never have ventured away from the whats in a name thread , at least that was funny!

Tony lets agree to keep that just between us. My Parole Officer frowns on me associating with other's with my same character.

So I guess that's why Filipinos never seem to get sick, then.

    Eeeeek.
I think putting these up everywhere would help with the younger generation:
