Ha ha what a shitstorm, the discussions level are under my standard from some of you, other had good argruments and agree with many of them. My point is, that its human beings who create the problem with streetdogs. I hate when the run out in front of my bike, I hate when I live in an area, where streetdogs keep me awake in night, barking with out any reason, I hate the make sh*t every where, and hard to avoid step in it, specially when its dark. Again its the human beings who create these problems. I live in Philippines 6 years now, love it, that don't means I agree with the way, "things" goes on here/culture, but Im very much aware that Im a guest in Philippines. I keep my right to have my own opinion about whats right or wrong here, but f***ing not in the way some foreingers do here, act like the only way todoilike "home" where they come from. Many of the dogs in the street have a owner, we all know the reason why these dogs never seen the veterinarian or are starving. Many times I found puppies thrown away, specially on the beach, to me its the people who throw the dogs away who are the problem. There are many ways to solve the problem, no big deal, I just prefer its done in a human way. I train dogs most of my life, german and belgian shepard as a sport, track, obedience, defense work, Ipo program. I love dogs, specially working dogs, each to its own. I adopted a street dog by accident, was my plan have a german shepard again. Some bad guys try brake in my house 3 am, if its not was because of the dog, Im not sure what would happen to me, short after 2 robberies happen few hundred meter from my place, thats another story. No one can come to my house with out my dog tell me, we have guest, make me feel safe. Main reason I love (most) dogs, they are not fake. Im here in Philippines to enjoy my life and will not waste my time to agruing with someone on a forum, good open mined discussion always welcome, specially with good humor. English is not my first language, sorry for mistakes

This topic is not about stray dogs, but to you doghaters, the problem is the "human being" who through puppies away instead of sterilise the female dogs, problem solved

Oh please. Approx. 50% of the threads here are complaints about things we can't change. I don't take part in these discussions because I think it actually changes anything about the situation, I simply enjoy it more than the TV program.

I wasn't talking about getting stopped while driving. I know I'm pretty much required to show a license if pulled over while driving.

I was replying to the "walking down the road at 2am" thing.
Did you really though? Or is that just a perception? Violent crimes are actually down in the US if I remember correctly.

Good point but I wasn't talking about automatic voltage regulators or a UPS for a computer. It pretty much sucks paying up to 4 times the money for a laptop, phone, decent tablet PC. Flash drives and micro SD cards can be had at reasonable prices but from what I saw they were bottom of the basement quality. It can be hard to find a 200GB micro SD card too. When I came I stopped in manila to buy my phone that had been on the market for 1.5 years already in Manila and had just been discounted 3K before I bought it. It was a further 8 months before that phone made it to Dumaguete. My Dell laptop can be replaced in Manila...at 4 times the price I paid for it in the US. My Huawei mediapad x1 that I paid 15.5k for, just reduced from 18.5 k is now up to 24K again. For the money I would buy the newer X2. My point was that high tech was expensive and hard to obtain generally in the Philippines and more so in Dumaguete. If you look at massive pieces of electronics like an AVR or UPC, you can see they are tech based on 45-50 years ago high tech. You can easily save $1,000 and a whole shitload of aggravation bringing technology to Dumaguete rather than trying to obtain it once you arrive. I learned that well when I scoped out Dumaguete in 2013 and was well prepared for it in moving to Bacong and Sibulan in 2015.

As for a DVD player? My laptop will play them and can be hooked to a television or monitor / projector through VGA or HDMI cables.

I do/have recommend bringing some 12-15 foot household extension cords from the US, the quality will probably be higher, the wire gage heavier than those obtained locally and you can't count on electrical outlets to be spaced as they are in the NEC for the US. My apartment was really good about outlets but they went somewhat overboard and even had an outlet for an aircon over a bay window. the last place I would want to mount an aircon.
