This was an awakener for me before I came here when, after listing ALL the times of the meals they eat here, my asawa described my full bowl of macaroni cheese as what they call a 'snack'. In fact, she preferred adding tinned mixed fruit and cream to the macaroni (which I now know is a traditional sweet dish). Don't know about everyone else, but when I made macaroni cheese as my main meal I would eat it for the next 3 days - somehow it got better each time.

True, but since I'm part of only a small minority here (wonder why that is, in pre covid times you couldn't travel anywhere in Europe without running into loads of dutchies everywhere, but around here we're even outnumbered by the swiss, swedes and norwegians lol), I'm getting my own boxes of Edam, Gouda, pindakaas, hagelslag, dropjes, leverpastei, nasi goreng mix, ketjap manis, sambal oelek, etc. etc. (stuff you lot wouldn't appreciate anyway :hilarious:) If only the herring would last long enough I'd get that too

Pure blood Apache would be considered an ethnic group similar to aboriginal tribes in, for example, Australia. Modern North American Indian tribes may have been present on the continent before European races migrated to the continent but they were not the first. The European “tribes” are just the latest in the succession of people who migrated to the US, Canada, Mexico and central/South America. Prior to the modern Apache and other tribes we had the Clovis who were taken over by them. Succeeding tribes have replaced each other since prior to the land bridge across the bearing strait which brought in Asians and other people’s. Apaches came late in the game. No one race or ancestry has or had permanent title to any particular place on this planet and none is pure American blood, just the latest tenants.

i am relatively new here so i hope it is understandable that i am still on a learning curve. if i understand you correctly rye, you are saying if something has the possibility of turning into an argument then it is not allowed in this secction of the forum? so what section of the forum is it allowed in? everything here has the possibility of becoming contentious i would think.

so it is fine with me if you just move this to where you think it belongs. i started this thread and it has been informative for me and i have enjoyed the input of the other posters. i don't read anything so far in the thread as being argumentative or insulting. i really don't think it is my responsibility to move this to another section and wait to see if you will approve of that or not. can you just move it to where it belongs? you don't even need to tell me where because it makes no difference to me as long as we can continue the thread as long as there is interest in it. thanks!

This discussion thread has more relevance to those seriously settled here than endless discussion on US and British politics, veterans issues etc. I agree with 'shabby', not sure what we can and cannot discuss here now.

Excellent idea - I suspect a few could have answered your call (perhaps whilst sitting alone (by preference)) eating breakfast at Why Not (another free choice).

Also if retired military survivor benefits could be attained if they were accepted. If a VA disability recipient and you died from a VA related disability, then the dependents can claim those benefits too and they are tax free.
