I wouldn't advise that if coming through Singapore Airport, I forgot about the several large (realistic looking) plastic spiders I threw in for 'joke time' here, the guy with the machine gun in hand who opened and looked into my bag nearly shat himself, but not as much as me when he jumped and pointed the gun at me and asked; "JOKE?" :jawdrop:

Another time my ex BIL was going back to Oz from Cebu via Singapore and had a very BAD bout of Giardia from drinking the local water, he was sweating profusely and was led away by armed guards to a hospital where he was anally probed and X-rayed as they thought he was a drug mule and one of the packages had broken open in his stomach! lol

Oh an you can only bring in 100ml (or less) bottles of liquid, they also confiscated Aftershave, Perfume and Lice Shampoo from my bag after the spider incident... :shifty:

Acetone peroxide is a high explosive. Would be fun explaining that one too security.

Acetone will also be found in every "shady" (and legit) chemistry lab. It is generally used to filter, or "wash", chemicals.

Joking aside, did the op ever find any acetone?

I have bought Acetone in Watsons in Cebu. I would have to guess that Watsons in Dumaguete would also stock it. It is in the nail polish section alongside the polish remover. It is Ceres brand and is labeled "Pure Acetone" in big letters. I've not seen a bottle any larger than a pint. Personally, I intend to check out the hardware that Brian Oinks put up as I use acetone and fiberglass from time to time. Thanks, Brian

Mr Oinks, the article is not "too long'. It's your opinion that the article is too long; too long for you. For me, it's a good example of long-form journalism, you know, a story that takes longer than two minutes to read. And yes, some of the comments (way, way down there at the end) were very aggressive and arrogant...

Woops, sorry, Mr Oinks, my reply above should have been directed to Mr Birdwatch... (damned painkillers - 4 stitches after slipping on a concrete boatramp the other day...)
