Sta. Teresa | Dumaguete Info

What: Sta. Teresa Resto

Where: Downtown, Dumaguete City

Sta. Teresa Resto is located in the heart of Dumaguete’s downtown district. I wasn’t really up to the plan to eat at this restaurant at first. However, the trip proved to be satisfying to the palate. Filipino cuisine at a reasonable price.

OVERVIEW

The Interiors: The restaurant at first glance is clearly Filipino but with a modern touch. It has good air conditioning and is spacious enough to hold customers at peak hours, such as lunch. I would like to classify this resto as a “high-class _carinderia_”.

The Menu: Sta. Teresa mostly serves, if not all, Filipino dishes. Obviously. They also do not have a menu since they let you choose your food in the very Filipino “_turo-turo_” style. The price range is student friendlyand different Filipino recipes are available so I doubt that you won’t find a dish that’s suitable for your type..err…taste. 😉

Did You Know? The owner of this restaurant is my friend, well, their son.

THE FUN PART

What I Ate:

**

Pork Calamansi – Sta. Teresa’s pride. The star. Their specialty. I’m not a big fan of this viand but most of their customers love this. It’s basically pork marinated in a special calamansi..guess it..you got it, marinade. It’s best served with a_sawsawan_ or you could eat it on it’s own.

Binagoongang Baboy (Pork in Shrimp Paste) – Now this one is EPIC! I’m allergic to shrimp, shellfish etc. but I don’t care. I just had to eat this. It’s one of my favorite Filipino dishes, asides from Sinigang. It wasn’t the best Binagoongang Baboy but it was satisfying to fulfill my craving. I suggest you try this dish when you plan to visit Sta. Teresa.

 Mmmmm…Sarap!

The Result:

I was absolutely full and satisfied and we spent less than Php200!

Prices:  Pork Calamansi Php60, Binagoongang Baboy Php55, Rice Php10/serving
